Staring at the Sun

So Jason Aldean’s New Album Night Train came out earlier this month and this was the first song I heard off the album. I love Jason Aldean alot, but I must say, I have a feeling that this album is going to be my favorite. In an interview with Taste of Country he said that “Staring at the Sun” was his favorite song on the album and I couldn’t agree more. The line “She gets on you
Under your skin like a tattoo She’ll always be there.” Hits me really hard. Lately things are really different and I don’t get to spend time with Scottie or any of my friends as much as I want to. I am always so busy. But I know I am like a tattoo, I’m not going anywhere. Even though I am busy, I will come back and I hope they will be there waiting for me.

I wish there was more time in the day to get everything done.

Turning off Real Life.

Over the weekend, I went upstate NY  to visit some friends. I don’t know what it is about being up there around the farms and wide open spaces that opens my mind and helps the creative inspiration and energy flowing again. As we were driving, outside every window was another breath taking image. They almost looked like pictures, thats how perfect it was there. You are in the country side where is green and the air is fresher and cleaner and the bugs are the majority, not people. When I was up there , I walked  around alot. I was always wondering deep into thought because everything I was seeing around me was so beautiful and peaceful. In my head it was like my brain was being drained and seeping into the soft fertile earth. When I go there, I tend to forget what its like at home. When I am there, I hear coyotes instead of honking horns, and when I look up,I see stars. They aren’t like ordinary stars, these stars look like they are going to fall on your face. I also got to go on a tractor, I didn’t turn it on, but it was awesome. I love everything about the country, the music, the people, the atmosphere . I really can’t stand this fast pace moving shit. Everyone is in a rush to get somewhere. In the country its all about patience. It may take you a half hour to get to the food store, but once you get there, its worth it.

I had an awesome vacation. It may have only been 3 days, but it felt like a week.I can’t wait to go back!

Let the Games Begin!

Since tonight was the Olympic opening ceremony I wanted to say to all my followers from  all different countries good luck in the games and may the best team win! Tonight my cousin had an opening ceremony party. We are from USA ( hence my patriotic pants) we all had to come dressed up in our athletic clothes ( my cousin was Michael Phelps) or representing a specific country  . My cousin always thinks of the best ideas. We also had food from all over the world. From Chinese rice to tea and crumpets. My aunt dressed up as the queen of England, it was  too funny.

We all had a great time, and it was a great way to get the family together…even if we dress funny..

May the best team win!

USA USA!

Country Line Dancing:Best Form of Exercise.

Every time I go country line dancing I feel like I’ve lost 20 lbs when I leave the bar. It’s an amazing feeling. It’s better than working out in the gym and you are surrounded by hot cowboys… how can that be bad?
I have a new country buddy, I’ll be skinny by September for a fact. HA HA!
Have a good night!

Multi Colored Music Notes.

I really like Ke$ha.

I really love her lyrics, they make me laugh so hard. My favorite line is “Be too sweet and you’ll be a gonner
I’ll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer” I just legit laughed out loud. Like seriously, Really? I can’t even believe that would ever come together and become art. The more I listen to Kesha, the more  I question the music of this genreation.

The genre of rap and party music  is something I really don’t understand. Can’t you just make it into a poem? I guess Dr suess was the first rapper. He should have some bling. A ghetto Dr. Suess.. hahah.

Anyway, Rap isn’t music in my opinion. I think if you are going to be a singer or a musical artist you should able to play and instrument or atleast sing well. Kesha is a poet. Her lyrics make me laugh so hard. I wish she didn’t sing them.

I like country music. Some would say that its all about the same thing. Some would say that everyone who listens to country is a hick, but lately country music has been a popular genre for americans to listen to. Each song has a story, and even though someone of them are about the same thing, they are all different. I’ve been listening to country since I was 13 years old. I went through phases in music, though. I wasn’t as a die hard fan like I am today. For a while I was into punk ( My chemical Romance, Blink 182, The Used, Cobra Starship) then I was into grunge and rock ( Three Days Grace, Streetlight Manifesto, Nickelback), now I went back into country and I love it. Sometimes, I will listen to the other stuff but I believe country music speaks to me personally. What music speaks to you?

Right now, my favorite country stars are Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Eric Church.

I’ve seen 3 out of 4 live. They were all so good. Miranda Lambert was my favorite, then Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean. When I saw Miranda, I was going through a rough patch in my life. Her music was there for me. It was there when I was happy or sad. I feel like I know her personally. She is a great person, she helps out so many people and she makes women and girls like me feel better in any situation.

I should live in the south, I feel like I don’t belong in New Jersey.
