My Journey to the Last Frontier

Now that I’m back from Alaska I am humbled by the images I saw everywhere you look was like a picture everywhere you looked you saw these gorgeous mountains that I miss the most about being there. Some people wouldn’t think that Alaska would be a great place to go, or it is too far but I will say this, it was so worth it. After the  10 long hours in the plane, we greeted with this.

and then I realized that is trip was going to be different.

With a 4 hour time difference from home I fell asleep the minuete I got there. The weirdest thing about Alaska however is that it never got dark there. The sun would set and then never go down.

This is from 11:00 pm granted the flash was on but you can see that you really didn’t need the flash at all. It was beautiful there and I really can’t even describe it because it was just breathtaking. Truly, enough with me talking about it. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

but there is one thing I need  to talk about, you all know I ate during my trip, but I did find the French Toast I’ve ever had.

It was a stuffed French toast with a orange cream with raspberry butter. It was a place called the Snow City Café. It is voted the best Breakfast in Anchorage and I couldn’t agree more. So fabulous.

My trip to Alaska was really grand but I am glad to be home. Won’t be going on a plane for a while.

But it was so worth the trip

Silent Beauty.

I wish I had time to just breathe.

Yesterday my friend Shannon and I went to the beach. It was so nice, a little chilly but it was an awesome day to take pictures. For my creative writing club I have to start taking alot more pictures for picture prompts and stuff. I’m kinda excited because now on top everything else going on in my crazy life, I have to start traveling. It’s convenient that I live so close to the beach. But you can only do a few beach scenes. In a couple weeks I am going to Martha’s Vineyard. I’ve never been there so I’m kind of excited and it will also be an opportunity to take some pictures. I heard its really really beautiful there. Has anyone ever gone before? My dad is running a marathon there, hence why we are going.

But as I sitting on the beach, I realized that nature can be so interesting.A little twig could make such a beautiful picture.

to me it looked like claws so I thought that was pretty cool. I am really anxious and excited about taking more pictures.. You’ll be seeing alot more interesting locations in the future. Before my mom made me come home, I took a few pictures, Hope you all enjoy!

SnapShot Memories.

the other night I sat in Red Bank with my friend Cheekz and we were taking in the beauty of the small town we live around. At times, I feel thankful I was exposed to what I was as a child. When I was little I was around the ocean everyday. I went to the beach all the time, even in the winter  and I got to see the beauty of the forest in the summer while we were camping. Since I started writing this blog, I have grown a sudden love for photography. I never saw the point when I was little, they are just pictures. Now I actually understand, you are capturing breathtaking moments in your life that you can’t explain any other way. You are capturing a moment you probably will never forget. You are freezing a moment in your life that was important to you. I give many photographers so much respect because I couldn’t do photo shoots or buy extremely expensive cameras just to capture memories.

I was talking to this new girl that my met at my new  job and she is a model. She was telling me how she just did a photo shoot and how fun it was. I thought only people who were on America’s Next Top Model did photo shoots. I don’t think I could get my picture taken without smiling. I know that sounds silly but I was trained to smile at a camera. I don’t think I could be a model. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable enough  with my body to take pictures of it. Even though I am starting to work out all the time, I still don’t think I’ll ever be comfortable with my body, comfortable enough to have someone take pictures of it.

Maybe one day I’ll do a photo shoot, but not today. I like taking pictures, not necessarily be in the picture. I also always blink when the flash goes off and I always look half stoned in my pictures.. I don’t know why.

Have a fun today, and remember, capture your memories.

How the Seasons Change.

In spring we fell in love

when the flowers bloomed

and the air was light

and my heart was baptized in your love

becoming whole and pure.

In the summer the warm sun not only

seeped in to our skin

but into my heart as well.

We sat on the rusty park benches together

with your arm around my neck

looking out in the departing sun

Fall returned and so did the colorful leaves

falling from each tree that surrounded our hidden world

I looked out your dirty apartment window

and questioned how long this would last

if the winter would freezed us together

or spread us apart.

Turning off Real Life.

Over the weekend, I went upstate NY  to visit some friends. I don’t know what it is about being up there around the farms and wide open spaces that opens my mind and helps the creative inspiration and energy flowing again. As we were driving, outside every window was another breath taking image. They almost looked like pictures, thats how perfect it was there. You are in the country side where is green and the air is fresher and cleaner and the bugs are the majority, not people. When I was up there , I walked  around alot. I was always wondering deep into thought because everything I was seeing around me was so beautiful and peaceful. In my head it was like my brain was being drained and seeping into the soft fertile earth. When I go there, I tend to forget what its like at home. When I am there, I hear coyotes instead of honking horns, and when I look up,I see stars. They aren’t like ordinary stars, these stars look like they are going to fall on your face. I also got to go on a tractor, I didn’t turn it on, but it was awesome. I love everything about the country, the music, the people, the atmosphere . I really can’t stand this fast pace moving shit. Everyone is in a rush to get somewhere. In the country its all about patience. It may take you a half hour to get to the food store, but once you get there, its worth it.

I had an awesome vacation. It may have only been 3 days, but it felt like a week.I can’t wait to go back!

Fire in the Sky.

Three barking dogs I hear

out my bedroom window on this morning

dew covers the cars and street lights

like an early morning shower

woman wear dresses and men wear suits

as they prepare to spend their morning with the lord

and thank him for their life.

I sit at my desk and discover

that fire can come out of my hands

that words can form together

and become ground moving masterpieces

that I only I can manifest

the sun begins its day

as the explosion of reds and yellows

create a volcanic effect

in the dark ominous black sky.

I smile

the fire of my fingertips

are making fireworks

in this early morning sky.

This is what you get when you randomly wake up at 5 am.

Life’s a Beach.

Today I went to the beach with my dad so he could practice swimming. It was really relaxing because not alot of peope were there because it was almost 8 o’clock and the sun was going down. As I sat on the beach in my neon on green beach chair I recently claimed, I realized that at that moment i was the most relaxed I have been in a while. It was soothing, like the waves were taking my thoughts and throwing them into the ocean. As I was sitting there trying so hard not to get eaten alive by horse flys, I was trying to think of something, even a line for a poem that would describe that moment, and I came up with nothing. I couldn’t concentrate on my book I brought with me ( not a very good book, but I must finish) The waves were like a melody and I was almost thrilled that I forgot my earbuds at home. I’m glad I actually thought about taking pictures though. The beach is the best place to take pictures. Any hour of any day, the beach is always beautiful. I hope one day I can take pictures of more than just my neighborhood beach..

These pictures are Sandy Hooke beach. It’s about 10 minuets away from my house. It’s really historic and the beaches are really clean, but you have to pay an arm and a leg to get on so I don’t see a point in going. After 5 its free, hence why I was there…

I am not cheap or anything, I just don’t understand why I have to pay to go to nature… but anyway, it was an awesome night.

Journey Down the Delaware.

So yesterday for the 4th of July, my cousin, her friend, her boyfriend and I went tubing down the Delaware River. I have never gone before so I was really excited to go.

I am a pretty adventurous girl so going down a river in a tube sounded like an awesome idea. I’ve been in lakes and ponds before upstate, but never in the Delaware River. I’ve driven past the Delaware my whole childhood and never had been in it.Sitting in my flaming hot black  tube was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had in a really long time. We had lunch on the tube and everything, all we needed was music, but we’ll bring that next year.

That’s my cousin Joan, her boyfriend and myself hanging out on the tubes. Brian was the rower, he guided us away from the jagged rocks and stuff.

It was so beautiful and calm. I fell asleep for a little while in my tube and now I have a sunglasses tan line, its scary looking and extremly painful.

I was surprised to see alot of people there. I’ve never even heard of tubing down the Delaware until just this year, but apparently everyone goes atleast once in their lives and its so fun. It really is fun when you are going through the rapids because its like you are on one of those slides at a waterpark. The bottom of the river was really slimely and rocky but it was awesome. I was surprised how shallow the water was.

My cousin Joan and her friends are really awesome and she invites me to go to awesome things with her and her friends. They are just really cool opportunities, and I appreciate and glad she invites me :)

Thanks Joan!

Happiness in a Cloudy Day.

So today my friend Andrew and I hung out in Colts Neck. Colts Neck is one of the prettiest towns I have ever been to  but there is like NOTHING to do there besides look at peoples houses and go on swings. Anyway, as we were waiting for another wave of storm to come and drench us ( 3rd time being wet today) there were funnels in the clouds. It was cool because it was circling around us until it started thundering. I felt like I was in the middle of a tornado, but not as windy.Thundering is my favorite, even though my dogs think its like the earth ending. As the water drenched my clothes I was full of happiness. I am amazed how weather, even the angriest weather, can make two people extremly happy. The weather has been becoming very bipolar lately, I’m kinda enjoying its inconsistency.

Enjoy the Breeze tonight <3

Hidden Messages Within the Trees.

I’ve realized when pictures are turned into black and white, there is more beauty within the picture… maybe thats my opinion. I’m starting to make photography a new hobbie. It could be nature or people but I love capturing moments I will never have again, with people I will probably never see again. There’s always hidden pictures within a picture, its like a Seek and Find game, I think thats kinda cool.

Have a Good Night.
